Reconfirmed ASSOCOMAPLAST's Presidency
On Thursday June 11, 2009, the annual Assembly of ASSOCOMAPLAST Members extraordinary extended until June 2010 Riccardo Comerio as President and all the offices of the Association, to carry out a thorough analysis of its structure and activity, in light of the actual situation of the sector.

PLAST'09 - A little optimism
The five days of PLAST'09 - from Tuesday 24 to Saturday 28 March 2009 - have infused some optimism into many exhibitors (and visitors) and a certain recovery of the sector is somehow expected, in light of the number of visitors seen in the halls of Fiera Milano (more or less the same of PLAST'06) and the good feedback in terms of quotations' requests and orders placed during the show.

New rubber area at the Museum
A new area devoted to the rubber industry has been opened on Thursday March 19, 2009, at the Science and Technology Museum in Milan. This area is just beside the one of plastics materials opened on February 2006. The two areas have been realized with the ASSOCOMAPLAST support and contribution.

Italo-Egyptian cooperation
On Sunday March 15, 2009, in Alexandria, ASSOCOMAPLAST General Management, in the presence of the Minister Claudio Scajola and the corresponding Egyptian Minister Rashid Rachid, signed the renewal of the cooperation agreement with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Industry for the development of the local Plastics Technology Center (PTC).

PLASTICS & AGRICULTURE - International Conference
Within the side events of the international exhibition devoted to the plastics and rubber industry, PLAST'09 (Milan, March 24-28, 2009), the second edition of the International Conference "PLASTICS & AGRICULTURE" is scheduled on Wednesday March 25 and Thursday March 26.

Negative forecasts, to be checked in the short term
According to the 2008 preliminary balance released by ASSOCOMAPLAST, in 2008 the sector did not repeat the satisfactory performance recorded in 2007 (being this latter the best one since the year 2000 up today) and, as quoted in the table, production and both sectoral exchange flows should have rather slowed down with respect to 12 months before.

The updated version of ASSOCOMAPLAST informative bulletin dated December 2008 has been published with the results of the survey carried out by our Association among its Members on the conditions applied for the services of specialized staff, in Italy and abroad.

FLOWFREE European project
On December 4, 2008 in Brussels in the head office of the European Association of plastics processors (EuPC) a seminar was held on the European FLOWFREE project.
