Founded in 1960, ASSOCOMAPLAST, a non-profit Association, now represents 162 leading companies, Italian plastics and rubber machinery, ancillary equipment and moulds manufacturers. 

The main aim of ASSOCOMAPLAST is to promote worldwide the knowledge of the Italian plastics and rubber processing industry that is at the top of the world market, in terms of production and export outputs.

ASSOCOMAPLAST's activity is managed through its commercial company PROMAPLAST srl unipersonale, that organizes promotional events in Italy and abroad. Among these activities there is the bimonthly technical magazine MACPLAS, with a circulation in Italy of 8,000 copies, besides the internet version MACPLAS ONLINE (www.macplas.it) and the bi-weekly newsletter MACPLAS E-NEWS.

Moreover, PROMAPLAST srl organizes every three years the international exhibition PLAST in Milan, second largest show in Europe, which sixteenth edition is scheduled from May 8 to 12, 2012 (www.plastonline.org).

PROMAPLAST srl, in cooperation with CESAP (Centre for the Development of Plastics Applications - www.cesap.com), organizes technical training activities, supports researches and new applications of processing technologies and new materials etc.. Finally, on behalf of UNI (Italian Institute for Standardization), it runs the Technical Committee "CEN/TC 145", which draws up European safety standards for plastics and rubber machinery.

ASSOCOMAPLAST is Member of CONFINDUSTRIA (Confederation of Italian Industry) and EUROMAP (Europe's Association for Plastics and Rubber Machinery Manufacturers - www.euromap.org).
